종종 그 둘은 돛에 바람을 가득싣고 배로 여행을 하곤 했지요..

Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came,

색칠해진 날개와 거인 반지는 다른 장난감들을 위해 자리를 비켜주었지요
One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
어둑한 어느날 밤 재키페이퍼는 더 이상 오지 않게되었고
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.
용맹했던 용 퍼프의 그 두려움없던 함성도 멈추었답니다..
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
퍼프의 머리는 슬픔으로 인해 떨구어졌고 녹색 비늘들은 비처럼 떨어졌지요..
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
퍼프는 더 이상 예전과 같이 체리나무 오솔길을 따라 놀러나가지 않았어요..
Without his life-long friend, Puff could not be brave,
평생을 함께해 왔던 친구없이는 퍼프는 용감해 질수가 없어졌던거지요..
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. Oh!
그리고 용맹했던 퍼프는 슬픔에 빠져 그의 동굴로 돌아갔어요, 오!
